Panda 🐼 at home thanks to Colin. A clear dark mahogany brown coloured pour with a whispy dark tan head that fades to the edges. Aroma is nice cinnamon bun, dried fruits, raisin, brown suaars, Belgian yeasty notes, faint roast, singed sugars. Flavour is composed of medium sweet, brown candy sugars, fig, prune, mellow roast, fruit cake, mellow boozty. Palate is medium sweet, rounded, mellow carbonation. Good fun.

Can at home, from HOTM online, 22/09/22. Extremely dark mahogany brown verging on black with a decent khaki cap that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is dark malts, pear drop, vinous notes, stewed fruits, nutty, burnt caramel, spice. Taste comprises fruit cake, light ashen tones, burnt toffee, dates, stewed fruits, prunes, light herb, fruit cake mix. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced kiss of alcohol. Solid full flavoured and well balanced Quad.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from All Good Beer I think. Pours deep brown with a sturdy, foamy beige head. Fruity, medium sweet, lots of dark fruits, Belgian yeast, nips of roast and cocoa, grapes, raisins, prunes, booze. Full bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Warming finish, relatively dry, decent bitterness, more dark fruits, dried berries, more ash and cocoa. Compelling stuff. Excellent.

Can. Mostly clear deep mahogany. Tan foam dissipates fully. Nose has sweet vine fruit. Demerara sweetened coffee. Some esters. Little bit of savoury. Taste has a dried fruit sweetness. Gets dry and bitter. Medium body with fine carbonation. Fairly dry. Unusually there’s some booze present in a St Mars beer. Dry and vinous bitter finish.
