CBJ Tasting. Thanks to Dan the man for the can. Near opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Smooth palate, fairly dry, decent fine carbonation. Fluffy dark malts, a little Malteaser dark chocolate. Some whiskey fruitiness. A little barrel induced vanilla. Semi dry finish. Tidy.

Can from Lupe Pintos. Black body with a dark brown head that quickly fades. No lacing. Aroma of liquorice, salted caramel and espresso. Flavour of umami, nuts, Worcestershire sauce and salted chocolate. Medium to full body with a chewy mouthfeel. Soft fizz. It’s pricey but worth it. This is a truly delicious beer that tingles on the tongue.

Can from the interweb somewhere. The aroma is rich roasted malt, charred, bitter - sweet, umami, salted liquorice, dark chocolate, cacao, savoury, dried fruits, black bun, Eccles cake, damp oak, dull vanilla & coconut, touch of dark chocolate bounty, toffee, fudge, salted caramel and whisky fruit cake. The taste is slick, oily, toothy, chewy, big hit of umami and liquorice, butter - sweet, salted liquorice, rich roasted malt, dark chocolate, dark fruits, jammy plum, salted caramel, honey, toffee, toasted spice, warning alcohol, fruit cake, touch of rocky road and some fruity malt whisky notes. Good boozy warmth that gives you a glow. Fulsome body and fine, prickly carbonation. Plenty of depth to it. Fulsome and flavourful.
