Initially we wanted a name that linked the beer to the sun. Solaris is the Latin word meaning ‘pertaining to the sun’. However there is a double whammy in the name, as Solaris is also the name used by Sun Microsystems for their computer operating system. Coming from an IT background, I thought it was therefore a great name to use.

Fra cask på GBBF aug-23, delt med Steven: klar gylden med fint skum som varer. Lys malt, furunål og krydderurter. Tørr, bitter og kjedelig avslutning. Men så nærmer det seg også avslutningen for oss.

GBBF Day 2. Cask. A light haze on this pale gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and fairly dry, modest fine carbonation. Sweet pale malts. Floral hops, some sweetish ripe orange underneath. Very mild spice. Dry finish. Quirky but dry.

Hand-pulled pint in The Pheasant, Wellington Shropshire on 27th Nov 2014. Poured a rich golden colour with a smooth foaming head of tight white bubbles, lacing ensued. Floral hop nose, slight citrus hints, dry and semi-bitter taste, hops winning the flavours battle with the malt content in the background. I thought I detected traces of honey within the brew, but not the sweet sort.
