Bottle straight from Skagen, thanks to my girlfriend Goedele who visited this town in the northernmost point of Denmark. Apparently the brewery's flagship, an American style IIPA with very thick, egg-white, creamy, papery lacing, stable head and misty amber colour with bronze-ish tinge. Aroma of candied orange peel, old dry biscuit, grapefruit flesh, some onsetting rusty oxidation, ground hazelnuts, bread crust, olive oil, paprika powder, white chocolate, cheese crust, cinnamon. Sweet dried orange and dried mango notes in the onset, softish carb, full and oily mouthfeel; very biscuity malt sweet body with a 'crusty' edge, powdery and lightly toasted in the end. Long, peppery, grapefruity hop bitter finish, lots of dried citrus peel aroma retronasally but also olive-like and cheesy, hinting at obsolescence and followed by a soothing afterglow of whisky-coloured alcohol. Lost most of its brightness due to aging, having become more of an aged (American style) barleywine than a true IIPA, but a rich, colourful and delicious sipper still, very American and modern in style. Glad I tasted this one.

Draught at KØ17. Caramelly aroma. Clear amber colour. Small white head. Very caramelly flavour, slightly sweet. Quite high bitterness with a mild hop bite. I usually expect a bit more of this style and ABV.
