Pigs Ear Day 4. Cask. Almost clear amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry and has decent fine carbonation. Light malts, some unsweet toffee. A lively fruit burst in the mid, bright citric peel. A little floral lemon. Mild spice. Touch of vanilla and dried candy fruits at the end. Interesting but bourbon barrel?

Cask at Pigs Ear 2015 - London. Pours clear golden-copper with a creamy, white head. Odd and muddled aroma, with vague fruits and minerals. Light to medium sweet flavour, with some dried fruits, faint vanilla, orange peel. Medium bodied with fine carbonation; OK condition. Somewhat dry to finish, with more minerals, light toffee, vanilla, old citrus fruits. OK stuff, but I wouldn’t say any carrot comes through. Or cinnamon, or nutmeg. Or bourbon.
