3/5/2025. Bottle from Hopsters, Ipswich. Pours black with a small frothy tan coloured head. Good pour. Aroma is dark chocolate, roasted malts, cocoa, vanilla, caramel. Moderate sweetness and bitterness. Medium body, quite smooth, soft carbonation. Thinner than expected. Boozy, dark fruits and ashiness in the finish.

Bottle via a trade I think. Pours a bit lively. Sits nearly black. Very decent tan foam. Nose has port dregs. Bit of manure. Treacle. Ashy malt. Taste is quite sweet with a vinous dry twang. Smooth overall. Fine brisk carbonation. Twangy finish. That manure thing isnโt great.

Bottle split at the Grand Reunion Tasting at MM, Thanks to Danny (Boyo), 20/05/21. Black with a good sized tan cap that clears to a swirl. Nose is rich roast, dried fruits, spice, umami, dark malts, mellow port notes. Taste comprises fruit cake, raisins, cocoa powder, dark malts, mellow roast, port stained oak. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced boost. Decent impy but I expected more.

Panda thanks to London Crew: Poured a oily sludge black with a tan head. Aroma is sticky, roasted malts, porty, fruity, chocolate. Taste is nutty, chocolate, roasty, port, malty, very interesting.

Bottle shared in HW - cheers to Dan. Pours deep brown with a bubbly beige head. Medium sweet, quite earthy and woody, some dried fruits, leathery berries, chocolate. Medium to full bodied, oily, with fine carbonation. Earthy and bitter finish, ash, old wood, dried berries. Solid.

Bottle shared at Colin's place. Many thanks to Daniel osprey for this one. A rich mahogany brown coloured pour with a halo of tan head. Aroma is nutty, cola cubes, apple curd, cakey malts,. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, big cakey malts, raisin, apple, cola cubes, bitter oaky finish, boozy finish. Palate is semi sweet, oaky, moderate carbonation.
