Pigs Ear Day 1. Cask. Opaque black - brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is smooth with very modest carbonation. Smooth and mellow dark malts, just a touch of dark chocolate. Light finish. Trace of oaky chocolate in the aftertaste. Inoffensive.

Cask at Pigs Ear, 2015. Black pour with a beige head. Chocolate, coffee and licorice aroma. Licorice, coffee and toffee flavour. Not bad, solid stout.

Cask gravity at Pig’s Ear 2015. It pours dark ruby-brown with minimal had. The nose is bitter-sweet, toasty, earthy, treacle, mild smoke, salted liquorice, ash and weirdly enough it has a bit of smoked kippers about it. The taste is bitter, toasty earthy, ash, charred wood, liquorice, oily, umami and toasted sesame with a short, charred finish. Light - medium body and soft carbonation. Perhaps a touch too dry and savoury, but overall ok.

Gravity dispense at Pigs Ear ’15, 04/12/15. Light black with a decent tan covering. Nose is roast malt, Chocolate, light charr, spice, biscuit, dark fruit vibes. Taste comprises milk chocolate, toffee, roast malt, light charring. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough stout.

Cask at Pigs Ear Beer Festival, Hackney, London. A black coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Roasty, malty, coffee aroma. Tastes similar, roasty, malty, coffee.

Cask at Pigs Ear 2015, day 1 - London. Pours clear, deep brown with a foamy head. The nose holds toasted grains and light roast. Light to medium sweet flavor with more grainy toast, cocoa, light earth, leather. Medium bodied with fine carbonation; OK condition. Finishes with notes of dry and grainy toast, wholegrain bread, bitter earth, dried leathery berries. Pretty OK.

Cask @ Victorian Craft Beer Cafe, Halifax. Black with an off-white creamy head. There’s plenty of coffee notes here, quite smooth and lingers in the palate.
