This Halloween, we’re paying homage to three classic 1980s horror films with a trio of eerily enticing brews.
Introducing Only Noodles Michael, a pale ale that’s as crisp as a moonlit night. Refreshingly light, it’s infused with the juicy sweetness of white grapes and the zesty bite of sharp lime. It’s the perfect brew for those who, like us, can’t quite stomach “all the damn vampires!”

440ml can. Poured a hazy green colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is herbal. The flavour is moderate sour, with a light, crisp, light vinous, tart lime palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation.

440 ml can, from Left Field Beer, England. ABV is 4.5%. Slightly hazy emerald green colour, moderate head, slightly off-white. Aroma of crushed white grapes and lime. Citric flavour, lime and a surprisingly distinct grapefruity bitterness, hints of white grapes. The bitterness becomes medicinal in the aftertaste.

The colour of this beer reminds me of Grotbags, who I met at Alton Towers once, she was working there as Grotbags, not riding the rides. Witchy green, not looking great but drinkable. Fruitiest in aroma with grape strong and a bit of mango and passion fruit, but not really transferring to taste.

440ml can as a gift, likely from House of Trembling Madness, York. Drunk at home. No Rust Build-up (Heathers anyone?) colour. I say we go for Big Blue. See, we can all quote 80s movies. Light aroma of berry and grape. Taste gives me a little bit of lime but not much else. Unfortunate soapy aftertaste. Slightly watery body with carbonation on the heavy side. Some of these gimmicky beers are great but I find this one just a bit too problematic. The promised flavours are meek, and it’s a bit of a mess.

On tap at The Rake, Borough Market. Green pour with a white head. Lime, white grape & gooseberry jam aromas. Lime & green apple taste. Sharp hoppy aftertaste. Gimmicky but it's ok.

On keg at Shilling. Appearance - pond green and pond hazy. Thin white head. Nose - green grape, kiwi and lime zest Taste - mainly lime zest, some greenery kicking in too. Palate - light bodied, dry zesty finish. Overall - it annoys me that I like this adjunct beer.
