Cask @ Fox & Goose, Hebden Bridge. Extremely dark with a slightly off-white creamy head. Has a fairly decent roasted malt aroma and taste with a grittiness to it, although perhaps slightly understated in this respect.

Bottle. Mr. Pickles, Sheffield. Dark, cola brown. Bubbly, tan head, that recedes to a lasting, sticky film. Nose has charred wood. Liquorice. Bonfire toffee. Some treacle. Hint of coffee grinds. Taste is soft, nutty sweet. Light, woody bitter, with a dry, charred character. Smooth mouthfeel. Decent body. Dry, and woody bitter finish. Some nutty sweetness lingers on the lips. Nice one.
