Pigs Ear Fest. Cask. Opaque dark brown beer, good pale tan head. Palate is smooth and dry with reasonable fine carbonation. Dry dark malts, some tangy dark chocolate. Light tangy fruits, blackberry. More dark chocolate. Light dry finish. Alright.

Cask @ Fox & Goose, Hebden Bridge. Extremely dark with a slightly off-white creamy head. Has a fairly decent roasted malt aroma and taste with a grittiness to it, although perhaps slightly understated in this respect.

Bottle. Mr. Pickles, Sheffield. Dark, cola brown. Bubbly, tan head, that recedes to a lasting, sticky film. Nose has charred wood. Liquorice. Bonfire toffee. Some treacle. Hint of coffee grinds. Taste is soft, nutty sweet. Light, woody bitter, with a dry, charred character. Smooth mouthfeel. Decent body. Dry, and woody bitter finish. Some nutty sweetness lingers on the lips. Nice one.
