Sample, brown bottle, from and with Philippe Boutin (merci!), savoured on July 6 2016; eye: dark brown, semi-opaque, ring of beige head, light lacing; nose: malt, caramel, light burnt; mouth: malt, caramel, light burnt, slight fruity, finale in malt with light presence of unpleasant acridness, below-average carbonation, mildly sweet, thin; overall: ordinary FRANÇAIS Échantillon, bouteille brune, de et avec Philippe Boutin (merci!), savourée le 6 juillet 2016; œil : brun foncé, semi-opaque, anneau de mousse beige, légère dentelle; nez : malt, caramel, léger brûlé; bouche : malt, caramel, léger brûlé, très léger fruité, finale en malt avec légère âcreté déplaisante, carbonatation sous la moyenne, moyennement sucrée, mince; en résumé : ordinaire

Bottle: Poured a clear brown/burgundy color ale with a medium size foamy head with average retention and limited lacing. Aroma of candi sugar with light dry fruits and caramelized malt is not bad. Taste is also a mix of residual candi sugar with some caramelized malt and some dry fruits. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Not bad but a bit short on attenuation and some grainy notes were also observable.
