Meh a wattery wheat beer with a tart artificial berry/pomegranate flavoring. It was decent and I can see it being a great summertime ice cold beer but other than that it’s pretty forgetable.

Originally rated November 2008. Purchased at the LCBO, and this one is a new addition to the Amsterdam Brewery. Pours a mild hazy golden-orange-copper colour with an slight off-white head that is creamy and bubbly. The retention is great, and so is the lacing all around. Has a nice soft pomegranate scent to it, with light malt grain. Lots of carbonation of bigger bubbles around the glass at first, but then, nice consistent smaller bubbles slowly coming up from the bottom of the glass. I am surprised after tasting it, that this one is on the watery side. Really missing the boat on the taste. Kind of soapy, with hardly any aftertaste. Must have more fruit and more wheat to it. Wish they would not filter this one so much.

Golden coloured body with a light white head. Aroma of a touch of fruit, some funk, a little malt and not much else - a bit off indeed. Medium to Light-bodied; Pungent pomegranate and cherry flavours with a little icing sugar sweetness, some light malt and a bit of wheat characteristics. Aftertaste shows some light fruit beer tastes, but mostly a bit of wheat and some off tastes throughout. Overall, an okay beer to try since i’ve never seen it back in the states, but i’m okay with it being that way, because I’d never recommend it to anyone. I sampled this 50 cL bottle purchased from the LCBO in North Toronto, Ontario, Canada on 11-October-2009.

(bottle) golden colour; aroma of pomegranate and citrus; light bitter taste with light bitter finish; promising aroma with decidedly disappointing flavour

Bottle: Poured a deep golden color ale with a good size foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of lightly sweet malt with some light fruity notes as well. Taste is also a mix between some light sweet malt (couldn’t detect any wheat in there though) with some light fruit syrup added to the mix. I would be really surprise if there was any pomegranate in there; it is more likely that some syrup was use.
