8/8/18: Good balance. Thick, salty licorice, dark chocolate made sweet by the cognac. Very tasty.

27/9/19: New batch, I don't mind. This seems sweeter and more cognaccy than the previous one, less balanced. OK thickness, easy drinking, very soft. Lots of sweet cognac, little bit of wood, not much roast. Unbalanced, but I don't mind here.

50cl bottle pours an opaque, inky black with a ring of off white head. Light legs. Nose has molasses, ink, licorice, malt, chocolate, some BBQ sauce maybe. Flavor is chewy with malt, caramel, licorice, molasses, some thick chocolate syrup, some booze but it's lacking the vanilla to really compliment the base. Thick and syrupy finish, boozy too. A bit too big. Needs some nuance. 7 3 7 3 12

Bottle @ home. Black with a small light brown head. Smells sweet, boozy, earthy, vanilla, chocolate, oak, wood. Tastes earthy, liquorice, boozy, slightly soy sauce. I prefer the chocolate /roasty kinda stout, this is more the liquorice kind. Full body, very soft carbo.
