Irish coffee cream stout. Part of our Lesta Legends Series. Inspired by Lesta’s X Factor Winning, chart topping singstar, this stout is deliciously rich and full bodied, just like her skyscraper vocals.

Can at Ebenezers, Nantwich. Pours almost black with a small tan head, good lacing and fairly high carbonation. The aroma has malts, lactose and oats. In the mouth it is sweet and creamy with chocolate, malts, coffee and lactose plus cocoa and hints of dark fruits becoming evident later. A hint of bitterness in the finish. This is quite nice.

Draught keg at Two-Tailed Lion, Leicester. Dark brown, translucent with a small khaki head. Creamy aroma, a little Irish creamy, a little hazelnutty. Sweet taste but not too sweet. A nice honest bitterness to the finish. Soft to medium carbonation. I like this. It doesn't blow me away but it's a lovely flavoured stout.

Can from the brewer's own stall at the Birmingham NEC Good Food Show. A dark brown to black beer with a creamy beige head. Black coffee to start, then - yes - creamy with the boozy note of Bailey's. There's quite a rough, jagged roastiness in the finish which whilst balancing out the creaminess, did detract from the Irish cream and coffee theme they said they were going for. Nevertheless it's an enjoyable stout and all the better for not being overly sweet and adjunct-laden.
