Cask (gravity) @ 32th Pigs Ear Beer and Cider Festival 2015, at The Round Chapel in Hackney, London, England. [ As Cloudwater Imperial Stout ].Clear dark black brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, sweet malt, wood, light smoked. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, smoke - meat, woody, dark malt, roasted. Body is medium to full, texture is oily and sticky, carbonation is soft to flat. 75cl bottle at the 7th Match 2016 Shrewsbury Beer Exchange Group meeting: cheers Paulo for this. 11.2% ABV version. Really enjoyed this. Pours a true black, the head a lightly tanned affair. Nose and taste had liquorice, chocolate and coffee in equal measures all blending together within a smooth and rich body: the hops and malts married together very well with the alcohol level carrying the beer to a higher plane.

Tried at colonna, and hunter, bath. Black colour with a tan head. Aroma sweet flat coke and my mums chocolate after dinner mints. taste spicy liquorice, but nasal minty. buzzy and hard work to drink just a third.

Cask at the Euston tap. 10.1% Opaque black coloured pour with a lasting smooth light tan head. Aroma is odd cola, sweet, sweet jammy fruits, hint of choc. Bit weird. Palate is full and creamy smooth, low carbonation, little viscous, medium sweet. Flavour is composed of medium sweet brown sugars, cola cubes, little jammy fruit, mint choc chip, cough syrup. A very unusual beer.

Pigs Ear Day 1. Cask. Almost opaque dark brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is slightly viscous. Decent fine carbonation, semi dry. Rich dark malts, spicy licorice. Rich tangy dark fruits. Light finish, dry and spicy. Nice.

Cask gravity at Pig’s Ear 2015. It pours darkest brown/approaching black with a small tan head. The nose is bitter-sweet, toasty, charred wood, pretty juicy and a good deal of liquorice. The taste is smooth upfront, rich roasted malts, sticky, warming alcohol, salted liquorice, umami, spice, Dandelion & Burdock and cacao nibs with a dry, roasted finish. Medium - full body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Works pretty nicely. Decent.

Draft @ BrewDog Shepherd’s Bush, Shepherd’s Bush W12. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty licorice aroma. Roasted malty licorice and chocolate flavor. Has a roasted malty chocolate and licorice finish.
