Pigs Ear Day 1. Cask. Clear amber - brown beer, thin pale cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry. Modest carbonation. Nice ginger biscuits with some citric peel and candied fruits. Touch of Stollen cake. Light finish. One of the better Christmas nonsense beers on offer today.

Cask at Pig’s Ear 2015. It pours clear oil-amber with a decent white head. The nose is rich, cinnamon, nutmeg, toffee, stewed orange peel, eggnog and caramel. The taste is bitter-sweet, toffee, nutmeg, cinnamon, honey, orange peel, kumquat, eggnog and ginger bread with a toasted spice finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Works really well in my opinion. Spiced, yet balanced. Good stuff.

Cask at Pigs Ear 2015, day 1 - London. Pours clear orange with a white foam crown. Rich winter spices in the nostrils, some nutmeg, dried berries. Light to medium sweet flavour with notes of ginger, pale bread, biscuits. Light bodied with fine carbonation; OK condition. Moderately sweet at the conclusion, with some ginger snap cookies, more pale bread, cinnamon and nutmeg. Not bad for a spiced winter bitter. Nice one.
