Traditionally, this Belgian style farmhouse ale was brewed in the winter to be enjoyed in the summer. Well, us revolutionaries pay little heed to such silly traditions. We brew our Saison year round because, frankly, we don’t want to wait so long for such a delicious beer. Hired Hand perfectly blends malty and sour notes, with a refreshing dry finish. Enjoyed by laborers and leaders alike.

750ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, deep golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Fruity, slightly floral yeasty aroma, notes of apricot, dried yellow stone fruit, a slightly bready touch. Taste is slightly dry, subtle sweetness, hints of apricot, dried yellow stone fruit, slightly bready undertones. Mild and balanced.

Lightly hazy deep gold beer, big cream colour head. Palate is airy and semi dry, good fine carbonation. Malts are smooth with a little creamy sweetness. Mild spice and light dried fruits. Semi sweet floralness. Smooth semi dry finish. The whole is greater than the sum of the parts here. Comes together very well.

Pour is a bright golden with a small white head. Aroma is bubblegum sugar sweetness and a minor fruit. Flavor is a decent citrus hop to start then comes some thick lager malt and ripened fruit notes. Finish has a almost syrupy thick honey sweetness. Very sweet toward the end of the swallow. Much to low on yeasty esters and too high with the sweetness to make this a great saison but this is still solid.

Bottle: Poured a dirty amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of grainy malt with light citrus notes and some dry hoppy notes. Taste is sweeter than expected with a large dose of caramelized malt with a dry finish which kind of clash with the sweeter malt notes. Body is full with limited filtration and great carbonation. Sweeter then I like my saison but the dry finish is quite enjoyable.
