Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 9/6/2016. Near black, with a decent, off-white, head. Plenty of chocolate character, a touch of coffee, and some leafy hops, before a dryish finish. Enjoyable.

Gravity cask at the Draymans Son, Ely. Dark brown and pretty much opaque. Ring of whitish head haunts the glass. Light coffee and chocolate malt scent. Taste is sweet, milky and slightly fruity at first, but there’s an intense roasted bitterness in the finish. Berries, over-strong coffee and charcoal in the aftertaste. Very nice!!

Cask at The Barrel Drop Nottingham, Saturday 9th April 2016 with dad. Black in colour with a little skittering of bubbles across the surface. A simple stout, displays the usual characteristics of roastiness, a little coffee and chocolate, it’s quite pleasant. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov13 3.2
