Mild grainy malt aroma with some coffee. The flavor is sweet grainy malt, some roast character, and some coffee. Okay, but it’s kind of bland.

Twist off bottle. Cant really smell the coffee. Taste is coffee, no mistake. Yes coffee coffee coffee. Good to have in the middle of the day, some coffee. I'm not sure, except for the fizz, if this even taste like beer. Has a beer palate, its that somewhat peppery coffee. Typical pale coffee ale, or beer, or lager, what ever.

Perfectly clear golden coloured body with a two to three centimetre tall off-white and even tan head that stays afloat nicely. Aroma of super pungent brewed coffee with some white chocolate and a little bit of earthy and nutty malt towards the end with some significant sugary notes at the finish. Medium-bodied; Very strong coffee, cream, lactose and earthy flavours at first with a ton of sweet robust, earthy and very deep flavours that show a cloying amount of sweetness throughout with a little bitterness,  but this really is all about the chocolate and especially the white chocolate notes and much less about the coffee. Aftertaste shows some super strong and pungent malt and earthy notes that gives way to some lighter sweetness and robust coffee and cream flavours that make this slightly more drinkable, but the sweet and chocolate notes are very cloying and strong. Overall,  a pungent and very sweet, chocolatey and coffee-y beer that shows more lactose and cream notes than anything else, but a lot of earth, coffee and vanilla, as well. Not worth trying to find of course, but If you already have one and can make it past the pungent sweetness,  than this can be okay! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Harris Teeter in Arlington (Potomac Yard),  Virginia on  08-April-2020 for US$1,87 sampled at my house here in Washington a day later on 09-April-2020.

Bottle. A- Coffee, creamer, subtle earthiness. A- Orange color, clear liquid, white head. T- Coffee, creamy, mild sweetness, mild bell pepper. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- Not bad. Typical slightly earthy coffee flavor with a hint of lactose. They call it a pale stout which is stupid. Not bad.

Walnut and cardboard nose. Cloudy amber, thin head. Honey, cardboard, grain. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Weird, not very good. Better than a macro lager still.

Bottle pour from BevMax, Hamden. Appearance is lightly hazy gold (in low light, piss yellow in direct light) with tons of sparkle, 1/2-finger fizzy white head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is weak coffee, honey, and lightly roasted malts. Taste follows aroma but is a bit bolder. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, soft carbonation and weak finish as taste. Overall, nothing really bad about it. It drinks pleasantly enough and flavor and aroma are decent but really weak and almost zero complexity.
