We love brewing West Coast IPAs and appreciate how well they work in beautifully conditioned cask beer. Rattlesnake is a great example of this and its absolutely packed with classic hops from the USA, the aroma is all grapefruit and pine leading to a fantastic display of flavour across the palate with lemon, melon and lychee all coming to the fore. It's perfectly balanced with a malty sweetness in the body, and a refreshing bitter bite to finish.

Can from the Cheese and Wine Company, Bakewell. Clear pale amber with a light fizz and a lasting white head. Earthy and piney with a little grapefruit behind. Average body - maybe a tad thin but ok. Hadn't looked at the ABV, but it felt like a session IPA and I was quite surprised to find out after that it was IPA strength. All in all a bit disappointing compared to Thornbridge's normal standards.

A golden beer, a head is quite big and blond. Aroma has grapefruit, lime, some biscuity maltyness. Taste has grapefruit and lime, biscuit, at least medium bitterness. Medium bodied. Pretty nice, enough of bitterness.

Large loose foamy white head on a still golden coloured body.
Citrus, biscuit & typical Thornbridge aroma.
Medium to thin bodied, sharp dry & clean.
Grapefruit, biscuit, lime, earthy & malt tastes with a long bitter finish.
Classy Thornbridge.

Cask at the Southampton Arms, London on 27th December 2024. Coppery amber with shallow, lasting off-white foam and full lacing. Rich biscuit malt aroma with zesty peel. Zesty tangerine peel, butterscotch and biscuit malts in-mouth, and a finish of candied peels, tart citrus and nutty, sweet malts Full bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. Exquisite.

Cask @ The Bailey Head. Golden amber pour, loose white head. Juicy west coast, pithy bitterness, orange resin, mild sweetness.. something amiss, perhaps condition, not grabbing me tho

19/6/2022. Cask at the 30th East Anglian Beer & Cider Festival, Bury St Edmunds. Thanks to SHIG. Pours clear pale orange amber with a small frothy white head. Aroma of citrus, tropical fruits, pithy orange, grass, light spicy and piney notes. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness, touch of tart. Medium body, oily, soft carbonation. Nice fruity bitterness to finish. Enjoyed this.

Cask: Poured an orange with a off white head. Aroma is light citrus fruits, hops, malty. Taste is bitter forward, citrus, grain and malts backbone. The server at fest said if you like strong beer this is it. 😂
