We love brewing West Coast IPAs and appreciate how well they work in beautifully conditioned cask beer. Rattlesnake is a great example of this and its absolutely packed with classic hops from the USA, the aroma is all grapefruit and pine leading to a fantastic display of flavour across the palate with lemon, melon and lychee all coming to the fore. It's perfectly balanced with a malty sweetness in the body, and a refreshing bitter bite to finish.

Draught at Inn Deep. It pours clear amber with a small white head. The nose is soft, juicy, peach, apricot jam, pine, toasty grain and piney resin. The taste is rather bitter, pine, resinous, spice, peach, apricot, spice and caramel with a lingering bitter - dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Punchy bitter. Decent stuff.

Cask @ Black Door. Aroma has fruity hops, some pineapples and resiny tones. Flavour has minerals, fruity hops and gooseberry bush leaves. Finishes with acrid herbal bitterness. Rather rich for a real ale.

On cask at Coach and Horses, Dronfield - Thought I’d better rate this seeing as I added it! Hazy orange body, fluffy white head. Nose of soft citrus, tangerine, mandarin etc. Taste is syrupy, sweet and heavy on the booze. Very well rounded mouthful, very nice indeed.

Euston Tap. Cask. Lightly hazy amber beer, good off white head. Soft and light palate with a little fine carbonation. Light touch of Elderflower. Minor malt dust and light malt cream. Soft marmalade and a dash of citrus. Finishes semi dry. Quite a smooth IPA but compared with the others I’ve had tonight - well it’s a bit muted.
