13th September 2016
Can. Light haze on this gold beer, decent pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth and mildly dry and has modest fine carbonation. Soft and sweet malts, light creamy sweetness. Soft pine into juicy orange and orange peel. Half hiding underneath are some mild tropical fruits. Finishes smooth with mild hop spice and citric peel bitterness. Very nice. It’s got a good balance and hangs together well, just a little more carbonation would be good.

473ml can on 2nd May 2016 in the sun on my daughters patio in California. Golden bodied beer with a snow white head that gave off some decent lacing. Hops all the way here, piney and tropical fruit esters in both the nose and taste, fairly bitter and obviously hop centric it however was balanced by a decent malt undertone with a mini sweet base for the hops to play along.

Precious Metal, Brooklyn can: pours light copper with a white head. Aroma is grapefruit and malts. Taste is grapefruit and west coast but maltier than what is generally done in the modern tropical IPAs. Pretty nice.

Can from Bine & Vine. Pours lightly coppery gold with a white head. Aroma is mostly light stone fruit with some citrus. Not getting malt. Med + body (firm carbonation!). Flavor matches aroma, with some earthy/leathery/tobacco aspects - must be the malt coming in. So each quaff begins with fruits, and goes on to the rather unexpected flavors. Actually this is rather amazing ale. I’m really liking it. If marooned on desert island with only a supply of this for beer, I’d feel blessed. Oh yes.
