Kentucky Kilt is our malty, deep amber-colored, Scotch-style ale that was matured for nearly a year in Heaven Hill Kentucky bourbon barrels. A subtle final addition of vanilla beans at blending accents the barrel-induced aromas of bourbon and oak, while hints of ripe fruit and toffee round out this unique and complex barrel-aged blend.

Sample at Churchkey, pours an oily, translucent brown with a cap of head and some legs. Nose is big with butterscotch and booze and caramel. Malt. Some vanilla. Flavor is boozy butterscotch, malt, some Tootsie Roll now. Full bodied, sticky and boozy.

On tap at Alesong, pours a deep dark amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma is rich and complex, with a wonderful harmony of bourbon barrels, vanilla beans and treacle toffee. Flavour is elegant and complex, with a deep bourbon barrel character, followed by dry oaky notes, vanilla beans, and dry treacly toffee. There's definitely some residual sweetness, but it's held in check. Beautifully rounded barrel character and the vanilla beans add her another layer of depth. This is a beauty. Remarkable scotch ale.
