Imperial German-style Rauchbier (Smoked Lager) brewed with a grain-bill containing 75% smoked malts. Aged in Sagamore Rye Whiskey & Sagamore Double Oak Wave Stave barrels for 20 months. The time spent in oak really mellowed out the smoke character without removing it from the flavor or aroma profile.

More barrel and toffee, booze than smoke. The latter gets lost in the bigness here. Dark brown pour with decent head. Sweet boozy end with some bitterness. Some prune. Beastie would like this. Tap at brewery. 838316

Opaque chestnut, small creamy beige head, good lacing. Aroma is woody, boozy whiskey, hint of smoke. Flavor is medium sweet, charred wood, jim beam. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Fullish body 5,7,7,5,14
