21/4/2020. Sample courtesy of the Højbjerg massive. Pours hazy golden amber with a small bubbly off-white head. Aroma of fruit, hops, malt, herbs. Moderate sweetness and bitterness. A little earthy and herbal to finish.

[ As Диво Пиво (Divo Pivo) Red Ale ].
ABV: 5.6%. Clear medium amber yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, sweet malt, caramel, light hoppy. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, sweet malt, caramel, nut traces. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20200408]

BOTTLE 33 CL. Cloudy red, huge beige head. Aroma starts with caramel and spices (coriander, lovage?), then go some roots. The taste is similar - light malty sweetness, spicy herbal bitterness with notes of lovage or parsley. Soft carbonation. Not the amber ale you would expect, but good nevertheless.

Bottle at the hotel in Pravets - picked up at Vitamin B in Sofia. Pours clear copper, effervescent, with a thick, frothy light tan head. The aroma holds grainy malts, some aged berries, leather. Light sweet flavor with more grains, earthy and leafy hops, dried fruits. Light bodied with average to lively carbonation. Earthy and leafy on the finish, lightly astringent, with boots of grain husk. Pretty rough overall.
