Cask (handpump) @ Kelham Island Tavern, 62 Russell Street, Sheffield - Kelham Island, South Yorkshire, England S3 8RW. [ As Three Castles Tanked Up ].Clear medium amber orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, nutty, fruity, apple. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, caramel, sweet malt, nutty notes, apple notes. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. Cask at The Raven, Bath. Pours amber with white head. Malty aroma with some fruit. Malt, fruit and caramel flavor. Drinkable.

500ml bottle. Clear dark copper with small white head, tiny bubbles covering the glass. Fine hop aroma on a sweet malt basis. Light bodied, low carbonated. Taste has no sweetness left, dry herbal note throughout, some grain and hay as counterpart. A bit watery, easy to drink and definitely not a taste detonation.

Aroma is rather light and with some bready malt and some caramel. Also some sourish berries. Flavour is surprisingly hoppy with fruits, some peach, caramel and hints of sourish berries. The hops are nice, otherwise this would be just another real ale. Becomes less pleasant with sour and woody notes towards the end of the pint.

Cask at the Prince Arthur (JDW), Fleet. Golden brown with a tight cream head; orange fruit aroma; soft and creamy texture, earthy malt flavour with sweet apples and autumn fruits; then a light bitterness follwed by a dry biscuity finish. Another excellent ale from Three Castles.

Cask at Market Porter, London. The colour is light brown with a thin off-white head. The nose is nutty, milk chocolate and some orange peel. The taste is wood, caramel, nutty, fruity and some varnish with a long bitter finish. It’s quite thin but easy to drink.

[i] [b] Cask at FFTMC, Oxford 24-03-08 [/i] [/b] Pours dark amber with a thin white head and I must say it looks in superb nick. Some soft fruity malt on the nose was followed by soft maltiness in the mouth. A solid bitterness followed this actually was quite tongue numbing at times with its intensity, lovely fruity finish, really good beer.

Cask @ Far From the Madding Crowd, Oxford. Pours a clear amber color with a small off-white head. Fruity malty aroma with hints of caramel. Also some waek hoppy hints in the background. Sweet malty and fruity hoppy caramel flavor. Has a long fruity and malty finish with some bitterness in the aftertaste.

Cask conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol 27/6/07. Deep copper coloured with a slight white head. Aroma of earthy and floral hops. Flavour of citrus hops with some biscuity malt in the background. A warming alcohol finish to this enjoyable beer.
