On tap @Mad for Beer (Rome). Bruna intensa, schiuma beige media. Al naso note di cioccolata fondente, caffè, ciliegia, leggero metallico. In bocca è dolce all'attacco con chiusura amara, di cioccolato fondente e caffè, bilanciata molto bene. Corpo medio-leggero, carbonazione medio-leggera. Buona.

backlog rating from 12/1/15. Draught from ATG, was worried that it would be overly sweet cherry-ish, cloying, cough syrup nastiness...but I was wrong. Lovely sweet stout colour and aroma of dark chocolate and soft cherry notes. Taste is wonderfully understated, highlighting more of the lactose and chocolate flavours rather than the cherry, but its there in the background. Nice finish, not overly sweet. Good one.

Cask @ BrewDock, Dublin [131214]
Very dark brown, bit hazy, thin bubbly head
Aroma of dark malts, soft dusty cocoa
Taste of mellow roast, plain chocolate, nice soft fairly sweet dark malts, soft dark fruits, not much cherry (which is good), slight port wine, really tasty
Palate - Medium body, smooth texture, light sweet. Finish as min flavour, soft dark cocoa
Overall - Really nice. Tried it on keg at 57 The Headline - more cherry, less cocoa...I preferred the cask version 3.7...keg was around 3.5

Cask at Against the Grain. Deep black with a tan head. Aroma is malt and a hint of chocolate. Flavour is bitter chocolate, a bit of selection box cherry, heavy texture, lingering bittersweet palate.
