A columbus hopped Black IPA. Hoppy aroma, light body with stout colour and tasty roasty malt flavour, made with lots of lovely US hops.

Very dark brown, ruby edges, thin off white head
Aroma of soft fruits, no roast, sweet dark sugars, soft lemon
Taste of soft dark toffee, sweet dark caramel, soft roast, bit of liquorice, some sweet lemon, tad floral

Keg @ 57 Thomas Street, Manchester. Very dark but a clear red upon inspection with next to no head. It has a slightly tangy, slightly soured tropical fruit aroma and taste with some darker malt then lingering in the palate.

Black with creamy head. Quite an intense hoppy aroma. A bit green and piney. Flavour is less intense but still has a fair whack of hop. Some roasted malt bitterness in the finish.

(Cask at Craft Beer Clerkenwell, London, 8 Apr 2014) Reddish brown colour with foamy, off-white head. Malty, hoppy nose with notes of coffee, dark chocolate and aromas of pine needles. Malty, roasted, hoppy taste with coffee, pine needles, dark chocolate, hints of mint and a generous piney bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with balanced bitterness. Solid and well made black IPA (not really black though). Very nice.
