42nd Floor Tasting. Thanks to Fergus. Almost clear dark amber beer, good pale tan head. Very airy palate, semi dry and with mild fine carbonation. Thin dark malts, mild roast bitterness. Little milky tang. The bitterness gets a bit harsh. Touch of dark fruits. Airy finish. A little rough edged.

Bottle split at the 42nd floor Tasting, thanks to Fergus, 08/10/15. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a solid beige covering. Nose is earthy fruit, charr, dark malt, spice, earthy hop tunes. Taste comprises rich roast, liquorice, chocolate, light spice. Medium bodied, prickly carbonation, semi drying close with a spattering of hop bitterness. So so for this god tier style ... over carbonation certainly drops it a few points.

Bottle at the 42nd floor tasting thanks to Fergus. It pours darkest brown-black with a gigantic beige head. The nose is toasty, cocoa, earth, light spice, caramel, dried fruits, manure and brett. The taste is soft, malty, toast, brown bread, funky brett action and peppery spice with a dry, toasty finish. Medium body and high, foamy carbonation. I doubt they were aiming for a funky stout, but that’s sure what it tastes like. OK, whatever it is.

Bottle shared in London - big thanks to Fergus. Pours clear brown with a vivacious tan froth head. Burnt herbs in the nose, charred meat, cocoa, subtle brett. Light sweet flavor with bitter burnt wood, dry earth, baking cocoa, berry skins, mellow brett funk. Light bodied with super lively carbonation. Drying on the finish, lightly warming, with more brett funk, roast, cocoa. Interesting stuff. Perhaps some of the flavors in here aren’t intended, but it comes together nicely.
