Inspired by a mind blowing dessert created by a Nordic eatery that popped up in the middle of the Mexican jungle. Pasilla mixe chiles, honey, cocoa nibs and tangerine peel. It’s wild. Oh yeah, baby.

Dark brown. No head. Has a nice pasilla note, rich chocolate, and some light coffee. Complex palate - a really rich base beer, with a touch of orange, a hint of honey, earthy pasilla, and more chocolatey, toasty notes. Complex, smooth, good body, and the elements are all in balance. Tasty stuff.

Can. Pours opaque black, medium creamy dark brown head, dissipates slowly with good lacing Aroma is roasty, strong cooa notes, light citrus zest, hints of coffee. Flavor is light plus sweet, light bitter, roast, cocoa, coffee. Faintest hint of pepper that would be lost in the noise if not called out on the label. Fullish body, soft mouthfeel.

Can. Pours a pitch black color with a medium white head. A big roast and pepper nose. Huge hot peppers, burns, chocolate, ashy. Very hot, but it works well. Extreme for most people. Nice brew.

12 ounce can into snifter; no can dating, but is a recent release. Pours dense pitch black color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy dark tan head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, molasses, toffee, honey, brown sugar, marshmallow, fudge, tangerine peel, chili pepper, and toasted dark bread; with lighter notes of nuttiness, licorice, dark fruit, smoke, charcoal, leather, tobacco, wood, vanilla, and roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt, cocoa/spices, and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast notes; with great strength. Taste of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, molasses, toffee, honey, brown sugar, marshmallow, fudge, tangerine peel, chili pepper, and toasted dark bread; with lighter notes of nuttiness, licorice, dark fruit, smoke, charcoal, leather, tobacco, wood, vanilla, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate roast/char and herbal/woody hop bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, molasses, toffee, honey, brown sugar, marshmallow, fudge, tangerine peel, chili pepper, toasted dark bread, smoke, charcoal, leather, tobacco, wood, light licorice/dark fruit, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, cocoa/spices, and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; with a great roast/hop bitter/sweet balance; and no acrid/astringent roast/hop/spice flavors after the finish. Slightly increasing dryness from hop/char bitterness. Medium carbonation and full body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and lightly slick/sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 12%. Minimal pepper spice/heat, but nice flavor presence. Overall this is an excellent spiced imperial stout. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, cocoa/spices, and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to drink for the big ABV. Feels very similar to most other Evil Twin stouts I've had on the fruity/molasses/leathery flavor complexity. Very well balanced between all flavors. Plenty of roast/char malts, without being astringent or overly bitter/drying. A very enjoyable offering.

Draught. Inky dark brown with very small frothy tan head, woodsy mocha aroma, medium carbonation, dark chocolate-mocha taste with burnt flavor, smooth body, long bitter finish. Very nice indeed.

Can from Craft Brewed. Pours a deep brown to black with a finger of beige head that lingers. Some cacao nib and faint roasted malt on the nose. Complete white pepper bomb on the palate. No other flavors. Just an insane amount of heat. Drain poured. Apparently one of 25% of hot cans that were brewed in Satan's asshole. A shame as I like both of these breweries. If you play Russian roulette I guess there is always a loser, signed the burned 25%.

12 oz can shared at Spacebar, thanks Matt! 3 ounces or so in a snifter. Black with light tan head. Aromas of peppers, dark chocolate, light roast. Tastes of dark chocolate, spicy peppers, roasty notes. Medium full body with a dry finish. Pepper heat lingers. Great if you're into spicy beers and stouts.
