Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Chocolate Stout collaboration with Weathered Souls Brewing • 14.3% ABV • Right when we released our fresh "Black is Beautiful" back in 2020, we knew the chocolate-laden concept was destined for a barrel treatment. We're honored to work with Marcus and the Weathered Souls team once more in bringing this powerful liquid into its final form!

Grab this golden ticket and ride Form Five through rivers of sweet milk chocolate into a decadent, dark chocolate tunnel of Ecuadorian and Filipino cacao nibs. Sparks of toffee and fig zip through bold layers of oak and bourbon, offering balance and character -- and completely subverting any need for cursed songs about morality.

2023 bottle drunk 6/29/25.
Clear, dark. Small, tan head to ring quickly.
Rich spicy bourbon matched by deep, nutty, chocolatey notes with round milk chocolate, roastier dark chocolate and light vanilla. Clean and no alcohol with a pretty easygoing character for all this dark stuff.
Quite carbonated and attenuated. Wondering if there was a bottle refermentation? Body is medium, not syrupy. Still quite rich but with good attenuation. No booze whatsoever. Tons of nutty, roasty, milky, dark, fruity chocolate. Love the lack of syrup or sugar (still on the sweet side, but the bourbon helps allay that somewhat).

Vintage 2023. Black, oily body, with almost no head. Aroma of booze, soy sauce, dark chocolate, some coconut, some vanilla. Tastes quite similar, with more coconut. Medium, oily mouthfeel, with a moderate carboantion. Finishes quite sweet, warm, quite boozy, with chocolate and vanilla. Nice, while I was expecting a bit more. Quite heavy and a bit too much on the sweet and boozy side for me. Score: 8 / 4 / 7 / 4 / 15

0,5l bottle at home. Black color, tiny black head. Smells vanilla, bitter chocolate, maple, coconut, light bourbon. Very nice smell. Full body, soft carbonation. Tastes vanilla, nutty, spices, earthy, artificial aromas. Finishes lightly artificial bitter with notes of vanilla, notes and artificial aromas. Too artificial, not a fan. Tough to drink

Bottle shared at the CBJ tasting, thanks to Dave, 12/06/24. California rake #2K on rake my bier dot com. Black topped with a tan cap that thins in time. Nose is chocolate, roast malts, jammy red berries, mellow bourbon. Taste comprises vanilla essence, cacao nibs, charr, roasted bite, rocky roads. Full bodied, light oily feel, semi drying close with a warming boost on offer. Tidy enough sipper ... would just have liked a little more bourbon.
