One minute you’re young and free, the next you’re listening to the songs of your youth on a playlist called ‘classic rock’. You may be a casualty of society but at least you have good taste in beer.
Aromas of freshly baked hazelnut cookies are complemented by the rich blend of chocolate malts in our full-bodied imperial stout. Smooth vanilla and aromatic cardamom round out the flavour in each sip.

Small reddish-beige head over jet-black beer. Mint, After Eight, chocolate, alcohol, cardamom. Sweet, chocolate, bit of molasses, aromatic dark green leaves, cocoapowder. Just a tad of mint left and cardamom. Full bodied, alcoholburn, soft carbonation. Sweetish (chocolate)liqueur flavour keeps going on. A bit cliché, maybe? OK, the cardamom is an original touch.

Cremiger, mild vanilliger Beginn, ziemlich süß. Moderat herb, viel Kakao, die Süße ist zu stark. Nussig, nett. 10/11/11/11//11

Can shared at the CBJ tasting, thanks to whoever split this one, 12/06/24. VC rake #100 on Rake My Bier Dot Com. Black with a tan cap that thins to the edge. Nose is chocolate, charr, dark malts, spice, hint of tonka bean. Taste comprises more tonka, cocoa powder, light spice, toffee, dark malts, molasses. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light boost attched. Okay sipper.

On tap at Low Key Taproom Black beer lasting tan head. Some mint and or herb on aroma. Some dark chocolate flavour. Weird flavours. Not sure it all works. Light raisin flavour. Weird. Not my kind of thing.

Can shared at CBJ. Cheers! Pours clear, deep brown with a foamy, beige topping. Medium sweet flavour with notes of rich dark malts, light spices, modest roast, chocolate, earth. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Festive spicing in the finish, a little boozy warmth, more dark malt character. Enjoyable.

330mL can, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is dominated by the cardamom on the nose, with a touch of toasted nuts and some cocoa. Flavour is not elegant, but has a very nice mix of adjuncts -- good harmony of cardamon, toasted nuts, and cocoa. The cardamom is not too strong but rather melds with the other pastry ingredients. Not complex but the adjuncts do work well and the base is good enough to support them. Very nice.
