(Draft at Akkurat, Stockholm, 5 Nov 2025) Dark brown colour with brief, beige head. Malty, vinous nose with notes of caramel, port wine, oak wood, raisins, prunes, vanilla and whiskey. Malty, vinous taste with caramel, dried fruit, raisins, port wine, oak wood, whiskey and a mild spicy bitterness in a vinous finish. Full body, quite sweet. Rich, complex and quite boozy. Very nice.

Almost black with a solid cream head. Aroma of plum pudding. Flavour is raisins and plum, warm barrel booze. Finish is burnt whiskey, creamy fruits, soft base.

On tap at The Rusty Bucket, Eltham. Nose is toffee apple, nuts, plum pudding, jammy red fruits. Rich taste of the above plus a spot of bourbon, dried fruits & caramel. Lots of warming alcohol. Boozy sweet finish. Very nice indeed.

On tap at Fuggles Cafe Tonbridge. Deep ruby very dark beer. Thin tan head. Yep that's a barley wine. I like the flavour. I like the black pepper flavour of the hops. I like the sweet bitter flavour. Good fruits. Plums dates sweet candied flavours. Pretty good barley wine. It's good. Very likeable intense layered barley wine. Good depth of flavour. Good barley sugar flavour. Keg at Fidelity Bar Dublin, Whiplash rake #100, 17/11/24. Deep mahogany brown topped with a lasting beige cap. Nose is stewed fruits, dates, toffee, solid bourbon nostril tickle, fruit cake mix. Taste comprises liquid fruit cake, vanilla oak, toffee, brown sugar melt, dates, raisins, more bourbon but not as ripe as on the nose. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Solid BA barleywine.
