Bottle. Black. Malt, roast, caramel, vanilla in the aroma. Full bodied, alcoholic. Malty sweet flavor with dominant whisky, roast and vanilla. Floral notes. Just a hint of peat. Nice but quite alcoholic.

Bottle at home from DeBierkonig, 2nd December 18. Pours a perfectly black beer, a frothy tan head. Aroma is barrel, wet wood, liquor, whiskey. Taste is barrel, wet wood, soy, liquor, whiskey, very well integrated, bitter, dark cocoa, chocolate, bitter coffee. Delicious beast of an impy, great one from Vendestreek

Bottle. Color: Black, light brown head. Aroma: Roasted malt, Auchentoshan Whiskey (dark fruit, raisins, citrus hints, grassy) Taste: Dark roasted malt, coffee notes, boozy, very nice balanced with the Auchentoshan Whiskey which gives this beer grassy, lightly citrus, sirupy, lightly smoked, raisin, dark fruity and cinnamon flavours. Full body, below average carbonation. Another top BA beer from VandeStreek.

Bottle picked up from Slijterij Post, Kampen, Netherlands and consumed at Mum and Keith's in Kempsey, Worcestershire, Friday 26th October 2018 This pours black with a slim beige head. The barrel ageing shows but it's nice, really nice and doesn't make it too boozy. It's smooth and with some coffee, thick in the mouth, really thick. A good beer. A8 A4 T8 P4 Ov17 4.1

Pours like discarded motoroil, jet-black but with a huge brown-tan head build-up, as well as lace. Roasted, sweetish, roasted nuts, but also mineral, suggestive of salt. Ersatz coffee, choolate, sauced tobacco. Roast, but even more tarr, phenol, smoked, tarred poles. Seabreaches tarred? Hints of meat- or breadcrust, overripe banana(peel); alcohol. I get the peat, but not the maltwhisky. Warming up, soy sauce. Very viscous, chewy, alcoholheat, burning backthroat. Decent carbonation. Certainly seen the barrels used, I think we might have expected more. 7/4/7/4/14

Bottle @ home. Black with a deep brown colored head that doesn't last long. Smells sweet, whisky, oak, boozy, roasty, unbalanced. Tastes sweet, whisky, oak, raisins, soy sauce, liquorice. Aftertaste of chocolate, oak and whisky. A bit aggressive, but the aftertaste is great. Full body, nice soft carbo.

Bottle from het Biermoment, BB End 2020. Dark color, short frothy lasting head. Aroma is meaty, roast, whisky, bit dark choc. Whisky dominates a bit in taste, slight smokey and meaty again, malty bitterness. Decent balance, I just prefer sweet bourbon.

Draught @ Van Moll brewpub. Opaque pitch black color with a medium sized brown colored head that lasts for quite a while. Aroma gives away heavy barrel aging. Heavy alcohol, some smoke and peat I reckon. Flavor partly confirms my suspicions: malts, dark malts, roasted malts, a hint of smoke, roasted and burnt malt bitter, liquor, and underlying quite well hidden touch of overripe forest fruits, a slight hint of peat in the background maybe, but it's more likely my nose misleaded me. Initially I thought meh, but in the end it's quite nice and balanced even though the finish is firm malty roast bitter with a touch of alcohol bitter. Medium to full body, average to decent, very suitable carbonation. Very solid. Worth to try and take your time with. You won't get this in two sips only. 7-5-7-4-16
