Tried on keg at Beavertown tap takeover, Stoneworks Peterborough. Rich deep ruby colour with a pale tan head. Aroma has dried fruit, figs, and nutty hints. Taste bittersweet with a slight sourness. Full rich body.

Wheat Bock - a thoroughly German style, but brewed by one of the top new English craft breweries and aged on madera barrels... Lacing, off-white, moussy, closed head, hazy, initially clear ruddy bronze robe. Aroma of stewed plum, indeed sweet young madera, figs, red apple, ripe pear, some banana, caramel, sherry, glue, cloves. Fruity onset, banana ester, ripe red apple, soft sourish 'wheatiness', medium carbo, supple and fluffy mouthfeel; bready malt sweet core, subtly sourish wheat, spicy phenols, long warming finish of indeed madera but also something brandy-like, tad earthy, soft tart red wine effect from the madera lingering, drying a bit. Complex and tasteful interpretation of a classic style which hasn't undergone too much innovation yet; not a typical Doppelweizenbock by far, but a rich, very noble craft beer in all respects. Kudos to Beavertown - once more.

330ml bottle. Opaque, darkest brown colour with average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting, superbly lacing, beige head. Rather complex, sweet-ish, fruity, minimally vinous, nutty and chocolately aroma, slightly ephemeral notes of Marsala, hints of chocolate, roasted nuts, dried fruit, fig, prune, waffle - nectarine and walnut appear every now and then. Taste is slightly dry, vinous, nutty, chocolately, hints of red wine, dark chocolate, dried fruit, blue grapes, plum, fig, waffle, dried banana, hazelnut, walnut - biting, bitter hoppy counterweight. Complex, diversified, a demanding study object that requires scrutiny for accurate recording.

Bottle thanks to Stuu666. Pours dark brown with a thin beige head. Aromas of light booze, yeast esters. Taste is fruity, dates, toffee. Has less barrel influence than the Demios, but a nice beer.

Draft. A hazy red beer with a lazing yellowish head. The aroma has notes of over ripe fruits, caramel, alcohol, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, alcohol, and over ripe fruits, leading to a dry finish.

Bottle@yesprs - Amber pour with beige head. Sweet malty aroma and taste with notes of caramel and toffee, some notes of dark dried fruit, prominent fig, slight nutty accents going on, sweet malty finish.

One of their best sour hybrid ales.

0.33l bottle. Looks good. It pours a mild blurry reddish amber, dark looking body. On the top there's a nice medium sized off-white and quite lacing top. It has a nice sweetish aroma. Darker types of sugar and a little dark dried berries. Traces of banana sweetness. Smells really nice and it really opens up after a while in the glass this. It has a mild oily texture in the mouth. Thinner than the abv should suggest, and it's about average on the carbonation. Get a little bit of alcohol, the Madeira is really present and pleasant in the taste. Slightly dry and sourish, lots of raisin and dried figs. Burnt sugar and a little booze. Nice stuff this. 04.03.2017
