Draught at Bukowski’s Boston, 12/9/16.
Moderately hazy, lemonpeel yellow body is topped by a small, but fairly staunch white head.
Surprisingly aromatic despite being served in a convex glass at a crowded bar. Lemon and tons of juicy tropical fruits with low to moderate salinity and no punchy or dominant lactic acid. Funky and quite homogenized between fruit acid/juice and bacterial acid, with a pinch of honey and bread behind it for balance. Clean and with no alcohol.
In the mouth it’s light, fruity, very bright and tropical, with lemon, very light lactic acid and lots of pineapple and soft tangerine pulp-like character on the finish. Soft, malty texture with the salt helping soften things as well, leading to a very balanced finish without a lof of the tangy-punch you get from the quickly-pumped-out kettle sours. Lingering, chewy malts, salt and juicy citrus, with soft funk and rich house character minerality. Delightful and one of the better goses I’ve had in a while.
Per usual, a vastly different experience on draught vs. bottle.
