With the colour of rich Porter but the punch of hops associated with IPA, our Black IPA is true deception in a glass. Three dry hop additions give this beer a scintillating aroma of pine and tropical fruit, while hints of toasted malt mix with big layers of US hop character from the addition of Simcoe and Mosaic varieties. What will you discover within the Dark Arches?

440ml can. About time they rebrewed this. Aroma of citrus, chocolate coffee. Taste is citrusy, orange peel, dark chocolate, coffee and roast malt bitterness. Medium bodied.
Still a great BIPA.

Been after this one for a long time, I like Northern Monk and I like a good BIPA, so high hopes. Can at home 26th July 18 from Cotterridge Wines, it's almost on its BB, 7th August 18. Pours black, some white head. Aroma is cocoa, citrus, chocolate, bitter undertones, some perfume. Taste is tangy, bitter, cocoa, some grapefruit, aromatic, perfume, grainy, really well balanced. Good BIPA.

Drinks incredibly smooth, although there's a strong hop presence. Lovely, although a tad sweet. Thanks a lot, Chris P. !

Can from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham and shared in Thailand. Poured a hazy dark brown colour with a frothy, short-lived off white head. The aroma is mellow malt, grassy nettle, light citrus, dry hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a light nettle dry roasty, grassy, dry hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. The kind of beer I could drink all night long. A superb session beer if it wasn’t for the ABV.

Keg at the Pint Shop Cambridge. Extremely dark and opaque with a tight tan head. Aroma of pine needles, liquorice, a trace of coal fire. Sweet taste which finishes with more hop bitterness. Resin and tarragon in the aftertaste. Nice body. Well carbonated but not over-carbonated. A top Black IPA.
