25th April 2015: gravity poured half-pint at a beer festival in the Duke of York, Lichfield. Good looking brew, red hue to the brown body with an off-white topping. Malts rule the nose and flavour with the hops a tight balancing act only really showing in the finish and aftertaste. Traditional Best Bitter and I liked it.

Cask, gravity at The National Winter Ales Festival, Derby, Friday 13th February 2015 in company of Chris, Ruth, Jan, Charlotte, Neil, dad and Pauline. Pours chestnut colour with a filmy white head. Very traditional bitter but with a just a bit more hoppier bite. A little nutty with a goodly dab of caramel. Good for the style and I am sure that this will go down well with the traditional CAMRA drinkers; however in a beer world where a more hop assertive beer rules the roost this doesn’t really do much for me. Looks good though and it’s in good condition. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov13 3.2
