Bottle shared at the taproom. Pours black with a beige head. Nose is roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee and fruity, cherry notes with some spice and wood. Taste is moderately sweet, malty, chocolatey with a nice, slightly acidic coffee and sherry notes with some cherry and wood. Closes with a warming, sweetish, slightly boozy finish, has a medium to full body and soft to average carbonation. I've had better BA beers from these guys, but this is a solid brew anyway.

Bottle (gift). Black color, almost no head. Aroma is coffee, roasted malt, a light liquor note. Taste is absolutely licorice, very clear, then again coffee, roasted malt. More on the sweet side but nicely balanced. Low carbonation, alcohol well hidden. The barrel is not really detectable, if not slightly in the nose, absolutely a good beer but I am not sure I would pay for it, a Pannepot Special Reserva is cheaper for example...
