Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is strong liquorice, dark malt, moderate roast, and subtle barrel notes with a touch of wood, booze and very mild whisky. Flavour is medium sweet with some bitterness. Body is above medium. Well, this is an okay Imperial Stout, but it's a bit too subtle on the barrels and too hefty on the liquorice for me. I'm not excited.

Bottle. Black. Soft roasty aroma, grainy with hints of licorice. Surprisingly dry flavor. Otas, oak and vanilla. Whisky is certainly not dominant, but noticeable. Full bodied. Well balanced. Warming.

Pitch black colour. Brown head that doesn't last very long, leaving a 1 bubble layer. Aroma's from the glass aren't very strong, somewhat boozy, roasty, light vegetal and light umami. Retronasal it's quite different, there's oatmeal indeed, hard roasted malts, dark chocolate, bitterness, some booze, although not really recognizable as bourbon and/or whiskey. Flavor is light moderate sweet with a lot of dark chocolate and roasty bitterness. Body feels a bit thin on the palate for the style and strength. Long finish, roasted and bitter. A worthy attempt.

Black with thin creamy head. Aroma and flavour pock up a lot of earthy , roasted malts. There's a lingering background vanilla sweetness. Also slight whiskey malt and liquorice. A step up from the regular version.

Thx! 330 ml. bottle sampled @ Billie’s Bier Kafétaria. Black, small head. Nose is thin varnish, plastic, dark fruit, low soy sauce,… Lacking barrel, thin, soy sauce (lower), plastic, sweetish, chocolate, plastic,.. Rather thin,… Okay but disappointing for a BA RIS, thinner, plastic, vague soy sauce. Should have def. be better, about on par with the base, served too warm.

Bottle @ home shared with Inoven. Opaque pitch black color with a light brown colored head that diminishes fairly quickly. Aroma is malts, roasted malts, some liquorice. Taste malts, alcohol, oak & whisky tart & bitter, dark malts, malt bitter. Body is medium, carbonation is soft. Rather dry finish. Hmm think they can do better than this.

Russet-tan head, stable, over jet-black beer. Burnt nose with immediate signs of other grains; meatroast. Rather sweet with lots of roast/burnt flavours. Rust/ironoxide flavours too. Dry coffeebeans, precious little or no vanilla. Very creamy, velvety MF, oatmeal helping, but gains a much drier finish. Quite classical but good; 6/4/7/4/14
