Bottle. A lightly unclear amber colored beer topped by a small, dense, light beige head. Fruity aroma with caramel malts, rather weak and one dimensional. It’s full-bodied, warming and smooth on the palate, with caramel, nuts, some piney hops and a citrus touch. Bitterness. Alcohol. Long finish. Started out in a nice way, but that was just the first whiff. Rather uninteresting actually. 150724

Bottle from Pigs Ear and drunk at home. Clear dark ruby amber. Lasting beige head. Sweet barley wine aroma. Golden syrup. I mean it’s a barley wine, some hoppiness on the finish. Sweetish, dryish, hoppyish. Fine. Just not enormously interesting but there is some orange fruits. OK.
