On tap at the Portal. Aroma is really nice with toasted bread, caramel, toffee, hints of chocolate and roast. Light herbal hop note. Light nutty notes as well. Pours brown with a medium sized, creamy, tan head that recedes slowly to the edges where it lingers. Moderately high lacing and faint legs. Flavor has a light sweetness to it. Fairly strong malt notes with toasted bread, caramel and toffee. Light chocolate and roast notes with hints of raisin. Medium bitterness with light floral and earthy hop notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a really nice beer. I haven't had a classic brown ale in years. I can't even remember the last one I had, maybe Moose Drool or Downtown Brown. I forgot how tasty these could be.
