Bottle @ Hart & Spool, Borehamwood, and a snip at just over£3 in this particular Wetherspoon pub. Very dark with next to no head. Strong tasting, making its roasted malts very sweetened in both aroma and taste. Has a relatively smooth texture.

Cask at Union Tavern. Opaque maroon color, beige head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, licorice. Taste is birnt espresso. Nice.

33 cl bottle. Pours hazy brown with a small brown head. Aroma is toasted malty. Toasted dark malty, light metaloic. Toasted. Bitter and dark roasted finish.

Tap at Konttori, Tampere. Dark, almost opaque brown color, small beige head. Milk chocolaty, cocoa. Medium-bodied. Chocolate, cocoa, some alcohol, roasted maltyness. Lactic. Clean palate. Balanced imperial stout.

Draft @ London Brewers’ Market, Spitafield E1. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty licorice and chocolate aroma. Roasted malty licorice and chocolate flavor. Has a roasted malty chocolate and licorice finish.

Bottle. A dark brown beer with a small, dense, light beige head. Some lacings. Roasted malts, licorice, molasses, dried fruits,beef stock, cellar notes and dried fruits in the aroma. Roasted malts, molasses, beef stock, brown sugar and some cellar notes in the flavor.It’s full-bodied, soft and semi-sweet. Lasting finish. Way toomeaty this one, but rather nice one, but not world class. 150411

Pours dark brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, alcohol and hint of coffee. Taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter with a long warm, malty, caramel and chocolate finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
