Black ruby in colour, with a rich chocolate and black malt flavour. This old style running porter finishes with a firm bitterness.

Cask at the Euston Tap - London. Pours dark brown with a creamy beige head. Lots of well toasted malts in the nose, with touches of cocoa. Light-medium sweet flavor with staunch ashy roast, bittersweet chocolate, gritty earthy bitterness, light iodine and dark, dried out berries. Medium bodied, silky, with fine carbonation. Finishes with lingering ashy roast, restrained cocoa, leathery dark fruits, mellow salt, earth, burnt wood. Not bad.

Cask at Craft Beer Co Brighton. It pours deep brown with a medium light tan head. The nose is smooth roast, creamy, chocolate, coffee grounds and dark fruits . The taste is smooth, rich roast, dark chocolate, toasty, espresso, pepper and light umami with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Well rounded and robust porter. Tasty.

Cask at CBC St Giles, 27/12/14. Light black with exposed reddish hues when turned to the light topped with a decent khaki covering, spoiled only by some wankers to my right playing youtube clips on their iphones .... Cad - sort this shit out! Nose is light coffee, hint of charr, roast malt, toffee, chocolate. Taste comprises dark fruit notes, chocolate biscuit, charr, roasted vibes. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close with light roastings. A competent porter.

Cask-conditioned at the Sheffield Tap, 1 December 2014. Dark brown with a tight, creamy, beige head. Plenty of roasted malts, some dark fruits, a hint of chocolate and a dry finish. Enjoyable.

Cask gravity at Pigs Ear 2014. Black dark ruby beer. Chocolate and some roast. More a light black ipa than a porter. Ok. Good chocolate but a bit roast lime hop black ipa like.
