(Cask at Southampton Arms, Gospel Oak, London, 21 Nov 2019) Black colour with foamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose witrh coffee, chocolate and roasted grain. Malty, roasted taste with notes of coffee, chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, dark bread and a balanced roasty bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Smooth but rich, solid and well made porter. Very nice.

Handpull cask at the Two-Tailed Lion, Leicester. Brownish black, opaque with a small to medium cteamy beige head. Intense roast malt on the nose with bitter chocolate and coffee grounds. The taste reveals even more complexity with a double-double coffee sweetness undercut with notes of bramble. Full, creamy mouthfeel. This is an incredible porter.

One-third pint, guest beer on cask at Goose Island Shoreditch. Bubbly fawn coloured head, laces well, almost black in the glass. Roasted dark malty aromas, hints of dark bread. Dark doughy flavours together with a chocolate impact and distant raisin notes. Lightly roasted ending. East to drink. Decent porter version. (London 11.01.2019).
