Bottle from Kris Wines, Holloway. Pours a reddish-black, no head. Flat body (which I’ve found with a lot of Pitfield brews). Aromas of raisin, rose petals, some coffee, a splash of chocolate. Flavours of coffee, chocolate raisin, roast meats. Very thin indeed. Improves in the mouthfeel which bumps the score up somewhat. Hmm.

Pigs Ear. Cask. Almost opaque brown beer, bubbly pale tan head. Nose is a pure ’Turkish Delight’ delight! Light palate, semi dry with decent fine carbonation. Vibrant fruity rose dominates. Lesser white flowers. A zippy tang stops it getting cloying. Whisper of orange before a light dry finish. Very rose and very good fun.
