Highly varied malts give flavours of plum, raisin and spice, coupled with tropical fruit flavours from citra, mosaic, galaxy, cryo pop and cryo Idaho 7. Sweet floral notes are also present from hibiscus to maximise the aromaticity.

Cask-conditioned at the Swan, York 7/9/2023. Near black in colour, with reddish undertones and a moderately-sized, beige, head. Plain chocolate, dark fruits, a touch of caramel and some citrus character throughout. Unusual, and rather pleasant.

Cask at Bridge Tavern, Newcastle upon Toon. Poured clear deep brown with a beige cap. Roasted malts, chocolate aroma. Taste: moderate sweet & bitter. Medium body with soft carbonation.

Cask at the Wellington, Birmingham. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a thin broken off-white head. The aroma is roasty malt, light chocolate. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a smooth, roasty, somewhat light, chocolate, light citrus, fake sugar palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Skipton Beer Festival 2023. Extremely dark, although not quite black. It does feel like a Black IPA though as its tropical fruitiness dominates its taste and is prevalent in its aroma too. There's is some dark malt character available here.
