Pours black with a thick head. Aroma is mostly malty, with quite some coffee and chocolate. Medium body. Flavour is rather balanced, malty with an intense dark malt flavour in the foreground. Chocolate and coffee, yet not very hoppy. Medium bitterness, some herbal hops but not that intense. Maybe a tad simple but actually really nice!

Bottle shared at Van Moll Brewpub. Opaque black color, average sized brown colored head. Smell and taste malts, dark malts, some roast and some hop in the distance but the hops aren't pronounced enough imo. Pretty subdued hops imo. I like a black IPA to be balanced between black and IPA and this is too much black imo.

500 ml bottle, from the brewery. ABV is 6.5%. Black colour, large beige head. Pleasant aroma of fruity hops, a hint of liquorice and roast malts. Refreshing flavour, medium dry, with distinct fruity and piney hops on a backgound of roast malts, hints of coffee.

0.5l bottle from #965 picked up at the airport! Oh, this one had a lot of head! Damn, looks super over carbonated and the color is not at all what I was expecting from an IBA. The little I can see under that massive foamy and fluffy brownish looking head is deep dark bronze colored, almost black-bronze. The aroma has tones of both smoke and roasted darker malty. It has that co2 thing that really bites you in the nose when sniffing down the glass. Typically over-carbonated. A strange aroma this, and I'm not sure if I like it. It has, as expected, a massive over carbonated aggressive carbonation level in the mouth this, and it tastes dark toasty and smoked. Lots of bitterness, alcohol, somewhat harsh and lots of grassy hops. Now that I see the beer itself is super cloudy almost murky. Something have gone terrible wrong here, just hope that this is not something your average bloke picks up at the airport and generalize that this is craft beer. This has to be a bad bottle or something - will re-rate at next occasion. 23.05.2016

On tap at Både&. An black one, with a dense finger thick dark beige head. It’s quite roasted on the nose, with a good piney touch. Some coffee and toast, and a citrus peel hint. It’s quite dry on the palate, nicely carbonated and with a good bitterness. Roasted malts dominated flavor, pine cones, resin and coffee joining. Even some hints of prunes towards the finish, which is mostly on the roasted and hoppy side. I prefer my black IPA’s less roasted, but it’s sure a fine brew. 170216

Flaske kjøpt på Vinmonopolet Jekta. Aroma Sitrus, humle, noe bær. Utseende sort med mye beige skum som varer. Smak sitrus, humle, karamell, noe lakris i kanten, røsted malt. En fyldig, god og balansert ipa.
