Poured from a 500 ml bottle. Aroma is fairly chocolate forward with lighter notes of roast, treacle and honey. Hints of toasted bread, dark caramel and graham crackers. Medium light bourbon and oak notes with medium light alcohol notes. Hints of anise, prunes and tobacco. Pours jet black with a small, moderately thick, dark mocha head that recedes pretty quickly to the edges where a small, creamy head lingers. Light lacing and long legs. Flavor is fairly sweet with loads of chocolate, dark caramel and toffee notes. Lighter roast, graham cracker, molasses and honey notes. Moderately strong bitterness with medium light alcohol notes. Medium light oak and whiskey notes. Hints of anise, dark fruit and ash. Mouthfeel is full bodied and a bit sticky with medium carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall, a shockingly good, new eclipse variant. I'm not sure it's the higher abv or the barrels used, but this one turned out with a ton of great aroma and flavor. A really nice, complex malt profile. Doesn't have the aged note that eclipse sometimes has right from the jump.
