This year’s iteration of Beyond Forever moves in a double-barrel direction. By blending rum, port, and various types/ages of bourbon barrels together, a dynamic base allows the vanilla to really blossom. The blend was conditioned on 1 lb./bbl of the signature Private Press vanilla blend of Ugandan, Tahitian, and Ecuadorian vanilla beans. The correlation of these elements presents notes of dark fruit, deep cacao, toffee, marshmallow, and chocolate covered cherries.
Blend:
Hubbard (barrel #187) aged 26 months in Weller barrels
Duke (barrel #203) aged 21 months in Booker's barrels
Hubbard (barrel #204) aged 12 months in Woodford Double Oak barrels and 12 months in Elijah Craig barrels
Hubbard (barrel #212) aged 10 months in rum barrels and 16 months in Straight Edge barrels
Hubbard (barrel #213) aged 10 months in rum barrels and 16 months in Dickel 17-Year barrels
Adderley (barrel #257) aged 17 months in port barrels and 11 months in Wild Turkey barrels
Adderley (barrel #258) aged 17 months in port barrels and 11 months in Wild Turkey barrels

Poured from 1 pint .9 fl oz bottle (side by side with Beyond Forever Blend 1). Very dark brown with small beige head. Nice bourbon nose with feint fruity vanilla. Floral, slightly perfume-y vanilla character with a touch more complexity than regular Beyond Forever Blend 1. Enjoyable, but still has a simplicity about it.

500ml (thx, Kevin G.!) @ Ryan's shared with Farees. Side by side with a regular version (batch #1).
Aroma: bold, moderately sweet, nice caramel candy notes.
Taste: thicker than a single version, nicer vanilla, still have some soapy notes as a regular version.
Overall: good one, but again, I expected more.

Bottle, 500 ml, courtesy of Eric. Shared with him, Miro B and Federico. Black with tan head. Intensive chocolate, beautiful bourbon, cocoa, some fruit. Beautiful barrel work. On the sweeter side of course. Full bodied. Very nice.
Sweet, boozy, syrupy. Strong vanilla, coffee, chocolate, bourbon. Rich, excellent.

Poured from a 500 ml bottle. Aroma is rather vanilla forward with nice bean notes. Lots of chocolate malt notes and a bit of roast with some dark caramel and toffee notes. Hints of molasses. Light bourbon notes with hints of oak and medium light alcohol notes. Pours jet black with a medium small, thick, dark mocha head that recedes steadily to the edges where a small film lingers. Light lacing and fairly long legs. Flavor is fairly sweet with lots of dark chocolate notes. Lighter notes of caramel, toffee and roast with hints of molasses. Medium bitterness and medium low alcohol notes. Lots of vanilla and marshmallow notes. Medium light bourbon notes and hints of oak. Mouthfeel is full bodied with medium low carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall, a really nice stout with great vanilla notes that lean towards a marshmallow character. Solid malt notes that are sweet and chocolatey but not over the top. Balanced barrel notes that compliment nicely.
