Cask @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Amber-brown with a thick creamy head. Has a mix of toffees and fruits in its nose, similar but lighter tasting, with a crisp texture.

Keg at Craft CG. It pours clear deep amber - brown with a small off - white head. The is toasted brown bread, leather, light toffee, earth and damp leaves. The taste is bitter - sweet, wood, leather, varnish, toffee, leaves, peppery spice, light alcohol, dried berry and dull burnt character with a lingering bitter - dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Not that easy - going. Chewy and earthy. A bit average for Dark Star.

Cask at Craft Beer Co Covent Garden - London. Pours perfectly clear reddish gold with a frothy, off-white head. The nose holds doughy malts, light pine, berries. Light-medium sweet flavor with notes of butterscotch, bitter grass, grains, dried berries, pine, old bread. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Findings fairly bitter, with dough malts, hints of dry toast, light astringent lemon peel, grains, berries. A bit scattered overall. So so.
